Sentry Safes are enjoying a marked increase in sales during these challenging economic times. Their main attribute leading to their increased success is people’s concern over trying to secure more of their cash and other valuables at home. I have a Sentry safe that is portable and fireproof. I would recommend it to anyone who is in need of something relatively small, affordable, and of good quality. But, with so many people wanting and needing larger safes, it will be helpful for you to consider some of the larger safes that Sentry makes. Please keep in mind the general idea that you need to pay special attention to labeling and categorization of any safe that you purchase. Whether a safe is fireproof or fire resistant can make all the difference when it comes to protecting your important documents and other valuables.

Sentry gun safes provide a larger space to secure weapons and ammo. The 5 gun safe has a solid 2 mm steel door, concealed hinges, carpeted interior, two live-locking bolts, and an 8 lever security key with double bit key. The safe also has a top shelf to make storing a few things more convenient. You can find this safe online for around $340. Their 10 gun safe has a combination lock with a pry resistant door. For those who prefer, Sentry Safes also offers a 10 gun safe with an electric lock. These same options are also available in a 14 gun safe.

Moving on to even larger safes by Sentry, the 24 and 36 gun safes are ETL verified to protect against temperatures up to 1400 degrees for 30 minutes. This also means that your items will remain in an interior that has an internal temperature of under 350 degrees F. My favorite thing about these larger safes is the way you can configure the interior. They feature adjustable shelf organizers to make this simple. You can have a top shelf with two lower sections, or shelves down one side or the other. Of course, you can opt for no shelving at all. Glossy or matte finishes are available as well as protection against drill attacks which is provided by hardened steel plates. These also have five steel live-locking bolts with 3 dead bolts. Key, combination, and electronic locks are all options. The 36 gun safe gives a whopping 22.6 cubic feet of space and weighs in at a hefty 510 pounds.

Sentry Safes also makes a nice Executive Safe. This is a handsome safe that has many of the same security and fire protection features as the multi-gun safes. It sports a flush floor, hooks on the back for making organization easier, recessed door pocket, 5 adjustable shelves, a cool floor compartment, and bolt down hardware. At under $900, this safe is highly recommended for its protection against theft and fire, as well as for its ample storage options and good looks.

If you are one who is wanting a safe for more protection and control over your things during the current economic environment, or you just want a nice safe for home or office, Sentry Safes will certainly be a great choice. They are priced so most homeowners can afford one, and they look great. They are backed up by a company that knows what they are doing and have been doing it for many years. Sentry Safes sets a high standard for quality and protection, so you are sure to love your new safe!

When fitness institutions seek the best commercial security systems in Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg for use in their own business, it would be wise for them to check out the Anytime Fitness security system. After all, Anytime Fitness is not only the largest 24-hour co-ed fitness club in the world but also the fastest-growing franchised fitness club worldwide. It follows that it would trust only the best from among many commercial security systems available in Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg. It should be noted that the Anytime Fitness security system comes from ProVision Security Solutions.

Effective commercial security systems should deter theft; monitor the security and safety of clients, management and staff; and alert the company and the authorities in case of emergencies. All these are covered by the ProVision Security Solutions.

ProVision Security Solutions offers a complete access control package that combines sophisticated hardware and software in a foolproof, safe and convenient system that is easy to manage and easy to use by the facility’s clients.

Access control is achieved in doorways with the requirement of access cards or key fobs that have to be held to a proximity reader. Only authorized persons equipped with such access cards or key fobs can gain entry. Information stored in the access card or key fob is transmitted to a controller unit that, in turn, transmits the information to the onsite computer’s access control software. If the validity of the card or key is confirmed, the signal to allow entry is given to the controller unit which triggers a mechanism in the doorway enabling the person to enter.

If the fitness institution so prefers, a tailgate detection system can also be activated at this point, allowing only the card or key holder to enter the facility. Any additional person who attempts to enter with the card or key holder will trigger an audible alarm. The entire incident is recorded on a digital video recorder, identifying the persons who have made the unauthorized entry, as well as the card or key holder who had been tailed.

This feature has been proven effective at Anytime Fitness, where it has solved the problem of non-members gaining unauthorized entry behind legitimate members.

Whereas entry points require electrical devices, exit points are marked by mechanical devices. The significance of this is that any loss of electrical power will not bar anyone from leaving the facility.

Video surveillance cameras strategically placed around the fitness facility provide 24 hour monitoring that is duly recorded and archived. Real time footage may also be viewed by authorized persons at any time from anywhere around the world through any computer with an internet connection. This provides a major deterrent to theft and other crimes, including vandalism, as well as against false liability claims.

ProVision security systems are multi-zone. The 24 hour zone is constantly armed. This includes a wireless panic button that can be worn as a necklace. Pressing the button alerts the 24 hour monitoring center of an emergency. It then alerts the authorities and contacts the facility.

The burglary zone is armed whenever activated by the institution. It covers wireless door contacts, motion detectors and glass break detectors.

Fire and smoke detectors and temperature sensors may also be integrated into the system for a more comprehensive monitoring coverage.

The complete integration of ProVision Security Solutions also includes digital storage of member agreements with the ability for instant updates such as demographic changes and payment transactions, and full interface with the point of sale system.

Safes come in many different shapes, sizes, colors, and materials. They serve to protect valuables from fire, theft, and other mishaps that may occur. Some are portable and some are so heavy that they cannot be moved without considerable effort, and even special equipment. When purchasing a safe, the savvy consumer takes close note of the labeling on the safe. Does it say it is waterproof, fireproof, or merely fire resistant? Different safe companies label differently, but ultimately you can rest easy if you buy from a reputable company that backs up the products they sell with strong warranties and customer service. And, as long as you know what you are buying you will not have anyone to blame but yourself if you do suffer a loss that could have been prevented had you done better due diligence. Be that as it may, let’s take a closer look at some of the different types of safes on the market today. I’ll leave the actual choosing process up to you.

There’s just something cool about a safe that is somehow tied to your unique bio-signature. Some safes require you to provide your fingerprints in order to open them. This is a pretty good idea for small gun safes. Keeps unwanted users away from accidentally getting themselves hurt, or worse. Anyone who owns a handgun should give serious consideration to getting one of these safes. The technology in them makes them a practical and nearly essential item for anyone interested in keeping children and others away from using your handgun, on purpose or accidentally.

Another safe that is very popular in the homes and offices of sportsmen is the classic gun cabinet style safe. These are lockable and secure, yet offer the good looks of wood and glass. It might be a bit of a stretch to classify these as safes at all. They don’t really protect from fire damage, and breaking the glass is certainly no big thing for a thief. However, for normal use, these do keep your guns and ammo safe from anyone with just a casual interest, and yet keeps them easily accessible when needed. This usually means keeping the kids out without being overly concerned for keeping someone out who wants to steal them. For many, this is good enough. Since these sorts of cabinets and cases do offer some protection, I am comfortable seeing them as safes.

Heavy steel safes with all the bells and whistles are the granddaddies of the safe world. These bad boys offer every imaginable protection and convenience. Reinforced steel doors, fireproofing, waterproofing, super heavy, door shelves, interior lighting and humidity controls, optional shelves and biometrix support, all make these sorts of safes something to desire. In fact, some have argued that these should be as standard in the home as any other appliance. I think that actually makes a lot of sense. We spend money on large items to make our lives in the kitchen and the laundry room more convenient and efficient. Why not see safes in that same way. Being able to secure the family jewelry, important documents, some cash, and any other valuable you may want to protect only makes sense.

Liberty gun safes take longer to break into than their competitors. It is said that the average burglary lasts 7 minutes. So Liberty Safe says that making a more secure safe is all about buying more time. The longer it takes a burglar to break into your safe, the less chance that he will succeed because he will just run out of time. To prove their security, Liberty ran a pry test between their entry level safe, the Centurion, and a competitor’s equivalent entry level safe.

Both were full size gun safes that were tipped on their backs, this allows for better leverage. Ttwo men then attacked each safe, one had a regular pry bar and the other had a much longer, steel pry bar that allowed for better leverage. The timer was started to see if the safe’s could hold up for the 7 minute average burglary time. The competitor safe lasted for 1:15, the Liberty Centurion gun safe lasted for over 10:00 minutes, about 10 times longer than its competitors.

If you think this is impressive, then you will really be pleased with Liberty gun safes higher end models. All of these models: the Colonial, Franklin, Lincoln and Presidential, come with security upgrades. One upgrade in particular is what Liberty calls “Tough Doors”. There are five main features to a Tough Door:

They are a composite door that is thicker normal, at least 1″ – 1.5″ thick.

There door has inner steel plates to increase the door’s rigidity.

These Liberty gun safes have larger diameter bolts, bolts that are 25% – 50% larger than their competitors. The bolts also longer, extending 33% further from the door and into the frame. This makes it much more difficult to pry the door away from the frame.

The higher end Liberty gun safes also have anti-pry tabs which increases a safes resistance to prying by up to 300% than safes without these tabs.

They have more bolts along more sides of the doors. Instead of just having bolts along one side like most entry level safes, the Colonial and Franklin have bolts along three sides, and the Lincoln and Presidential safes have bolts on all four sides of the door.

One other primary security feature is that the safes all come with anchors to secure them to the floor. This way the safe cannot be tipped over for easier prying. It also makes it much harder to steal the safe for breaking into elsewhere when time is not an issue.

All Liberty gun safes are Underwriters Laboratory tested for security. In these tests professional safe crackers try to break into the safe. When a safe passes a certain level of security test, they are rated for that test. All Liberty safes are UL rated, with the higher end safes earning higher security ratings than the safe below them.

Later, Liberty did the same pry test that was done on the Colonial and its competitor, but on the higher level Lincoln safe with the Tough Door. For over an hour two guys tried to break into the Lincoln safe with pry bars, before they gave up due to exhaustion. That was one tough safe! If you need security, then look into Liberty gun safes, and you are sure to a model that suits your needs.

Browning is probably the first name that comes to mind when safe are mentioned, and for good reason. The internal working mechanisms of Browning safes are a step above what you’ll find in most others; they include the finest locks, the most reliable and protective cam locking systems, and other innovative attack-resistant features to fortify against intrusion. Not only do they protect from theft, but from fire and fire damage, as well. As you move up in their line, you find the Platinum Plus Series and the Gold Series. These are the top in the market of home safes, no doubt about it. Browning safes are also designed to blend in just like a piece of furniture. You might not even notice that is is a gun safe, as a matter of fact. Your guns and heirlooms will be well protected in a Browning, whatever level.

Liberty is also a top of the line safe company; in fact, they’re the #1 seller of full-size residential safes in the U.S. You can find Liberty safes under three brands- Liberty, National Security and Centurion. They are high quality, innovative products that offer superior fire protection, technologically advanced security, a large amount of storage, customizable to your needs, as well as an attractive exterior. Liberty was founded in 1988 and employs about 240 people in Payson, Utah. Liberty safe have multiple security features, including composite doors which provide more protection from fire and are harder to pry open. Internal hinges mean there’s nothing for a thief to tamper with on the outside, and they provide extra resistance from prying or bending the door. An internal relocker will fire if the lock is tampered with, giving you an extra measure of security.

Rhino Safes is another big name to know; they are always innovating and improving their products to give you the greatest security possible. To prevent grinding and cutting attacks, which are become more and more frequent, they offer a variety of wall thicknesses. As tungsten carbide drill bits are readily available to thieves, Rhino has come up with a completely new design of locking system, which has received two U.S. patents and protects the contents of your safe more than hardened steel and ball bearing drill plate systems. They also feature a duolock relock system, 1″ hardened steel locking bolts, seamless continuously welded body, and a solid plate steel, pry-proof door. Rhino is based in Caldwell, Idaho.

Stack-on safes is U.S. manufacturer based out of Illinois, and offer a wide range of safes from personal to security to premier. Their premier safes are fully convertible, have an attractive exterior, and are UL RSC, ETL, fire resistant and waterproof. To achieve the UL (Underwriters Laboratories) label on a product, it must meet or exceed the UL 72 testing standards, which may include a fire endurance test, a fire and impact test, an explosion hazard test or others. The RSC stands for Residential Security Container, and means that the product is able to withstand a full 5 minutes of rigorous attack by drilling, prying, punching, chiseling or other tampering. ETL Testing Laboratories has been in the product safety and reliability testing business since 1896. It tests products by almost 200 performance and safety standards. Stack-on’s convertible home safes are one of the most convenient options you’ll find. For example, the 40-Gun Safe can hold, as you might guess, 40 guns or 20 guns with additional storage, or be completely turned into all storage. They feature four way locking with 7 live action locking bolts, and 3 steel dead bolts. Their patented barrel rest standoffs keep most scoped rifles away from the back of the safe, and these standoffs can be attached to any Stack-on barrel rest, removed and attached again. There are pre-drilled mounting holes in the steel bottom to allow easy attachment to the floor, and they come with fastening hardware, as well.
