Recycle old<br />
First place to start going green with your kitchen remodeling is to recycle old appliances and cabinets that you plan on removing your kitchen to make room for new appliances that you and cabinets. Instead of throwing these items, take them to the Army Hi or used furniture store. Not only will you save the environment by not rejecting them, but someone else will benefit from these items.<br />
Paint<br />
If you are planning to repaint your kitchen, as part of your remodeling efforts and choose a painting that has little or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These paintings are not only more environmentally friendly, but for the health of your family also.<br />

When choosing cabinets for your new kitchen to go with real wood, board or council of wheat straw. Firms that use pressed board are manufactured with adhesives that are not environmentally friendly and are not good for your health either.
